It is funny how the simple things in life come from well known places. I hate to say that being in college for 4 years has really put a damper on where I live at school and the activities I attend each day. I figured the stress was just a part of everyday life, and that I needed to learn to get use to it but coming home from the holiday really made me realize that the simple things in life are what made coming home worth wild.
Today, after spending a fun fill day touring tourist spots I’ve seen before several times and going to “Ole South Winery” in Natchez Ms I find myself rushing home to get in the deer stand. Now being a girl from the south some may think that deer hunting is a normal thing and all “redneck” girls but I have never really got into this outdoor sport. Although being a newbie at hunting I am not a stranger to the concept and tried my best to be as excited as I could be about going out and hunting for what would be my first deer.I took my dad with me as we made our way to the deer stand. Daddy let me hold the gun; I guess he figured I was old enough. As we got to the deer stand we both made our way up the ladder to the top to scout out our territory. Brown and yellow leaves surrounded us and we sat and waited to take our kill, but all we saw and heard was squires playing and our belly growling for dinner. As the sky grew dimmer our once shooting rang soon became a dark room with light growing dimmer by the minute. We soon climb down and headed home with what would appear empty handed but to me it was the best experience in a long while. I did not get the deer I wanted but there is always next time!!
